Zura Amio Zula (Deutsch):

Die Anfänge von "Zura Amio Zula" sind schwer auszumachen. Es begann ungefähr um die Jahrtausendwende.

Was ich oft von Hörern meiner Muzik gesagt bekomme, ist dass es wie Filmmusik sei.

Das trifft sicher auch auf viele Trax zu. Es gibt aber auch Stücke, die eher einem Song ähneln.

Meine Muzik hat sicherlich Einflüsse von verschiedensten Stilen und Genres. Ein paar Trax haben Ähnlichkeiten mit Techno, oder Elektro, oder auch Ambient. Andere wiederum haben gewissen Stilelemente, die an World/Ethno-Musik erinnern. Dann gibt es auch Stücke deren Grundstimmung und Sound eher in Richtung New Wave gehen.

Viele meiner Stücke sind aber eher in Richtung Psychedelic anzusiedeln. Dabei handelt es sich aber nicht um Stilarten, wie man sie aus den 70ern kennt. Dennoch sind die Einflüsse aus dieser Zeit in jedem Fall da. Genauso, wie Musik aus den 80ern & 90ern & natürlich auch aus den 2000ern. (Obwohl sich da nicht so viel neues getan hat.)

Doch bei all diesen Spielarten & Stilelementen habe ich einen klar erkennbaren eigenen Stil & Sound entwickelt der mit keinem einzuordnenden Genre oder Band/Produzenten vergleichbar wäre.

Es ist der Zura Amio Zula-Stil!

Die Sprache, die Anfangs nur aus Lauten und Kauderwelsch bestand, habe ich immer weiter entwickelt und entwickle sie auch heute noch weiter...

Es ging mir immer darum intuitiv die Trax und Songs stimmlich zu begleiten, ohne jedoch den Sinn, oder das Thema eines Liedes mit einem Text zu sehr zu "bestimmen". Die Stimme sollte nur das Gefühl eines Songs unterstützen.

Doch mit der Zeit reichte mir die intuitive Sprache nicht aus. Es fiel mir zunehmend schwer die richtigen Worte  "aus dem Stehgreif" zu finden.

So fing ich in den letzten Jahren an  - seit etwa 2011 - zu den Trax auch Texte aufzuschreiben.

Ohne jedoch die Grundidee zu vernachlässigen. Die Texte bleiben in der Regel unübersetzbar.

 Ich weiß meistens auch nicht, was die Texte bedeuten.

Aber dann ergeben sich doch im Nachhinein oft gewisse Zusammenhänge bzw. ein gewisser Sinn.

> Hinweis: Auch wenn ich manchmal Rückwärtssprache benutze, so hat das nichts mit Satanismus zu tun. Ich habe kein Interesse meine Muzik mit diesem satanischem Mist zu versauen. Ich benutze eher das Prinzip des "Minus mal Minus = +" - Prinzips bzw. der doppelten  Negativierung. Ich benenenne einen negativen Ist-Zustand & schreibe & spreche ich ihn Rückwärts aus. (Hat mir aber bisher noch nicht viel Glück gebracht. Aber, wer weiß: vielleicht hatte ich schon mehr Glück als Verstand & schützende Engel standen immer an meiner Seite)

& nochmal: Ich benutzte Numerologie um damals (<Mitte der 90er) einen Namen für meine Kunst & Muzik zu finden, die, wenn man sie numerologisch auswertet auf 777 herauskommt. Ich benutzte dafür das Buch von Günter Hager "Numerologie und Tarot". Am Ende des Buches sind Tabellen, wo für jeden Buchstaben ein Zahlenwert steht & so kam ich auf den Namen Zura Amio Zulah. Ja Damals noch mit H am Ende.. Irgendwann einige Jahre später, etwa gegen Ende der 90er hatte ich dann intuitiv das h am Ende weggelassen, habe  aber erst Jahre später anhand des Buches v. Günter Hager ausgewertet welcher Zahlenwert dann für die drei Namen herauskommt & so ergab sich der Zahlenwert 778!

SO habe ich nun einige Jahre nach der Namensänderung  jetzt auch mein letztes Album so genannt "778"

Die ersten sieben Alben: Bowaqui, Quapoa, Quapahaji, Infranet, Zorganica, Puppe Putral & Zurende bilden das Fundament und enstanden zwischen 99 und 2004.

Nach einem kreativen Einbruch, der sich leider einige Zeit hinzog (ca. 2005-2008), ging es dan mit neuem Schwung weiter!

Es sind bereits über 50 Zura-Alben entstanden und man kann die meisten bereits veröffentlichten kostenlos im Netz herunterladen!

Es gibt aber auch noch jede Menge Veröffentlichungen, die ich unter meinem Klarnamen (Wolfgang Raspe) herausbrachte. Das war Hauptsächlich Techno-Ambient-Elektronika...

Ich werde auch Werke aus meinen anderen Projekten hochladen (z.B.: MC CRYPT, Impfgebiet etc.)

!Der Fokus steht aber auf den "Zura-Alben"!

Ich bin an vielen verschiedenen Musikrichtungen interessiert. Die Musik, die ich mache ist hauptsächlich elektronisch. Ich habe aber auch viel mit Musikern gearbeitet.

Ich habe verschiedene Musikarten bzw. Stile, die ich spiele und entwickle.

Ich habe ein paar Alben und Trax unter dem Namen "MC CRYPT" gemacht.(Trip-Hip-Hop-EBM-bient)

Ich hatte einige Kollaborationen und Sessions mit Musikern und DJ's.

Da war Christian Blake, mit dem ich das Techno -"Binaural Beats Project" hatte. Mit ihm hatte ich eine Veröffentlichung auf "Psychho Thrill"  und zwar die "Uplink Ep" . (Eine Doppel-Ep auf Vinyl).

Zwei Trax davon sind von John Peel in zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Sendungen bei BBC Radio One von ihm vorgestellt worden. ("Bougie" und "Techo"  in der "John Peel Show")

Andere Veröffentlichungen hatten wir auf "Super6 Records".

Dann ist da noch Aruz Tenalp Azul. Mit ihm hatte ich einen Stil entwickelt, den wir "Evil Listening" nannten.

(Es waren hauptsächlich Sessions mit minimalen Equipment (Groove-Box & oder Korg MS 20 und dazu mischten wir Sounds von Horrorfilmen).

Azul erstellte für mich viele Cover u. mittlerweile auch Videos.

Dann war da noch "Electric Antigone", die auf unserem gemeinsamen Album "Lifesights"  (unter dem Namen "deeprived"), sang und Texte zu ihren Songs schrieb.

Ein Projekt und viele Sessions hatte ich mit T. (Bothe), dass wir "Impfgebiet" nannten.

Davon wurde auf Pharmacom / Super6-Records die "Seuchenherd - Triologie" veröffentlicht.

Und zu guter letzt habe ich ebenfalls auf Pharmacom / Super6-Records einige Lp's und Ep's unter Wolfgang Raspe einige meiner Techno & Ambient-Sachen veröffentlicht.

Mein für mich liebstes und wichtigstes Projekt ist aber nach wie vor das, was ich unter dem Namen:

"ZURA AMIO ZULA" schreibe und veröffentliche.

Diese Webseite soll als Forum dafür dienen.

Natürlich werde ich auch meine anderen Produktionen und Projekte hier ankündigen und "verlinken"...

Es ist eine Triologie, wobei der Letzte Teil zur Zeit aus nur aus drei Trax besteht, da es bei den "Goldies" um meine "All-Time-Favourites" geht und dazu zähle ich nur Stücke, die bereits schon ein paar Jährchen auf dem Buckel haben, mir aber immernoch so gut gefallen, wie am ersten Tag. Dann mach(t)e ich davon noch einen Remix & so kommen im Laufe der Zeit auch noch ein paar Trax zum letzten Teil der Triologie dazu! Es ist also keine Compilation von bereits erschienen Stücken, sondern die meisten Trax sind noch in nirgendwo anders herausgegeben worden -mit ein paar Ausnahmen die auf der "Psinauts 2.0" erschienen sind. Es sind neue Interpretation, von den liebgewonnen Trax (deswegen "Goldies Remixed").

Ich lade regelmässig neue Trax & Alben hoch. Seit 2018 machen wir auch Musik-Videos. Wir, dass sind Aruz Tenalp Azul & Zura Amio Zula. Azul macht die Bilder (Cover & Videos). Ich mache die Muzik (Zura).

Manche Cover sind aber auch von mir allein, oder in Zusammenarbeit mit Azul.

The beginnings of "Zura Amio Zula" are hard to pinpoint. It started around the turn of the millennium.

What I'm often told by listeners of my music is that it's like movie music.

That certainly applies to many trax. But there are also pieces that are more like a song.

My music certainly has influences from various styles and genres. A few trax have similarities with techno, or electro, or even ambient. Others have certain stylistic elements that are reminiscent of world/ethno music. Then there are also pieces whose basic mood and sound are more in the direction of New Wave.

But many of my pieces are more in the psychedelic vein. However, these are not styles as we know them from the 70s. Nevertheless, the influences from that time are definitely there. Just like music from the 80s & 90s & of course also from the 2000s. (Although there hasn't been that much change).

But with all these varieties & stylistic elements, I have developed a clearly recognizable style & sound of my own that cannot be compared to any other genre or band/producer.

It is the Zura Amio Zula style

The language, which initially consisted only of sounds and gibberish, I have developed further and further and continue to develop it today...

I was always interested in intuitively accompanying the trax and songs with my voice, but without "determining" the meaning or theme of a song too much with lyrics. The voice should only support the feeling of a song.

But over time, the intuitive language wasn't enough for me. I found it increasingly difficult to find the right words "off the cuff".

So in the last few years - since around 2011 - I started writing lyrics to the trax.

But without neglecting the basic idea. The lyrics usually remain untranslatable.

 I usually don't know what the texts mean either.

But then, in retrospect, certain connections or a certain meaning often emerge.

> Note: Even if I sometimes use backwards language, this has nothing to do with Satanism. I have no interest in messing up my music with this satanic crap. I rather use the principle of "minus times minus = +" or double negation. I name a negative actual state & write & pronounce it backwards. (Hasn't brought me much luck yet, though. But, who knows: maybe I've had more luck than sense & protective angels have always been at my side)

& again: I used numerology to find a name for my art & music back then (<mid 90s), which, if you evaluate it numerologically, comes out to 777. I used the book by Günter Hager "Numerology and Tarot". At the end of the book there are tables with a numerical value for each letter & that's how I came up with the name Zura Amio Zulah. Yes, back then with an H at the end. At some point a few years later, around the end of the 90s, I intuitively left out the h at the end, but only years later I evaluated the numerical value for the three names using Günter Hager's book & this resulted in the numerical value 778!

So a few years after the name change, I have now also named my last album "778"

After a creative slump, which unfortunately lasted for some time (approx. 2005-2008), things then continued with renewed vigor!

I am interested in many different music styles. The music I make is mainly electronic. But I have also worked a lot with musicians.I have different types of music or styles that I play and develop.I've made a few albums and trax under the name "MC CRYPT" (Trip-Hip-Hop-EBM-bient).

I had some collaborations and sessions with musicians and DJ's.

There was Christian Blake, with whom I had the techno "Binaural Beats Project".With him I had a release on "Psychho Thrill" called "Uplink Ep".

Two trax from it were presented by John Peel in two consecutive programs on BBC Radio One. ("Bougie" and "Techo" on the "John Peel Show")

We had other releases on "Super6 Records".

Then there's Aruz Tenalp Azul. I had developed a style with him that we called "Evil Listening".

(These were mainly sessions with minimal equipment (groove box & or Korg MS 20 and we mixed sounds from horror films).

Azul created many covers for me and now also videos.

Then there was "Electric Antigone", who sang on our joint album "Lifesights" (under the name "deeprived") and wrote lyrics for her songs.

It's a triology, whereby the last part consists of only three trax at the moment, because the "Goldies" are about my "all-time-favorites" and I only count pieces that are already a few years old, but I still like them as much as on the first day. Then I make a remix of it & so in the course of time a few trax are added to the last part of the triology! So it's not a compilation of only already released tracks, but most of the trax have never been released anywhere else -with a few exceptions that have been released on "Psinauts 2.0". They are new interpretations of the most beloved trax (that's why they are called "Goldies Remixed").

I regularly upload new trax & albums. Since 2018, we also make music videos. We, that's Aruz Tenalp Azul & Zura Amio Zula. Azul makes the pictures (covers & videos). I make the muzik (Zura).

But some covers are also made by me alone, or in collaboration with Azul.

Es ist aber eher zu empfehlen sich die Trax herunterzuladen, denn seit neuestem hört leider der "archive"-Player auf zu spielen, wenn man nicht auf der Seite verweilt. Das ist wirklich Schade! Vorher war das viel besser!

Aber zum Glück gibt es ja noch "Soundcloud"!

 >Ausserdem weiss man ja auch nicht, ob es irgendwann entweder mit der Seite komplett zu Ende geht, oder ein neuer Finanzier mit einer neuen "Politik", dann doch Geld fürs up-& -oder downloaden verlangt.

Also: Am besten die kompletten Alben, die Euch gefallen, herunterladen. Am besten auch inkl. der Coverbilder!

Dann könnt Ihr auch die Coverbilder über die Windows "Diashow" laufen lassen, während die Muzik von Eurem Player abgespielt wird. (Falls Ihr mal nicht an Eurem PC herumdaddelt, sondern Euch einfach mal zurücklehnen & die Muzik geniessen wollt). Eine "Diashow" mit den Coverbildern ist manchmal auch einfach besser als ein Video, weil man dann nicht ständig hingucken muss.

 But it is rather recommended to download the trax, because since recently unfortunately the "archive"-player stops playing if you don't stay on the page. That's a real pity! It was much better before!

So: It's best to download the complete albums you like. Best also incl. the cover images!

Then you can also run the cover pictures over the Windows "slideshow", while the music is played by your player. (In case you don't want to play on your PC, but just want to sit back and enjoy the muzik). A "slideshow" with the cover pictures is sometimes better than a video, because you don't have to look at it all the time.
